Four reasons
1. Large-scale fish farming (5 mu or more): Significant cost savings, increasingly economical over time: For commercial fish like grass carp, crucian carp, and tilapia, feed is the biggest expense. Making your own feed using cornmeal, soybean meal, and fishmeal saves 200-400 yuan per ton compared to buying ready-made feed. For example, a 10-mu fishpond using 80 tons of feed annually can save 16,000-32,000 yuan. Furthermore, machine-made pellets are more resistant to soaking; they won't disintegrate even after 1.5-3 hours in water, ensuring the fish finish the feed and preventing waste, further saving money. Additionally, the formula can be adjusted according to the fish's growth stage—more protein for fry and more energy for adult fish—leading to faster growth and earlier market entry.
2. Ornamental fish farming (koi, goldfish): Fresh and additive-free, healthier and more beautiful fish: Ornamental fish enthusiasts want their fish to have vibrant colors and good physiques. Color enhancers in commercially available ornamental fish food can harm the fish, but homemade feed eliminates this concern. Using spirulina powder, shrimp meal, and cornmeal as raw materials not only supplements the fish's nutrition but also naturally enhances their color, making it safer than adding chemical color enhancers. Furthermore, small-batch, freshly made feed reduces the risk of enteritis in fish, resulting in brighter colors and a better appearance.
3. Simple operation, no professional skills required: Whether for large-scale or hobby farming, the machine is very easy to operate. Medium-sized machines with automatic feeding are suitable for large-scale farming, eliminating the need for constant monitoring; small machines are suitable for hobby farming, producing 10-20 catties at a time, and can be used simply by plugging in electricity. The molds are interchangeable; to produce 3mm fry feed or 6mm adult fish feed, simply change the mold, eliminating the need to purchase multiple machines.
4. Raw materials readily available, flexible formulation: Raw materials for fish feed are readily available in rural areas or towns. Cornmeal and soybean meal are common, while fishmeal can be found in seafood markets. To save costs, dried sweet potato flour or potato flour can be added, allowing for flexible formulations and preventing supply chain issues.
